How Underground Works

Underground is a race/type that brings Pretty big economy in TFT, it's a trait that gives you extra loot like Gold or Extra Item Components.

The known economic characteristics are high risk, high rewards and often fun to play.

| Reward from Underground

With each battle, you will progress to completing a mission. Every time you achieve 9 progress, you will receive a reward depending on the number of points available. The more points, the more valuable the reward.

  • Musty 3 Underground: Get 1 point after each round, if you lose then you will get 3 points.
  • Musty 5 Underground: Get 2 points after each round, if you lose then you will get 5 points.

As with most economically profitable clans, a common strategy is to hit a losing streak over several rounds. Then accumulate gold and Roll at the required level, turning defeat into victory.

| Lose Streaking Strategy When Playing Underground

The idea is actually quite simple. For Stages 2 and 3, you want to lose as many rounds as possible, while saving as much health as possible.

The more you practice this, the better you will be. It's important to know exactly how many champions and items to put on the board to lose, but also to try to take down as many enemy champions as possible.

| Underground's Weakness

A common weakness of all economic systems/races is lack of synergy among generals. This is a list of all the classes/races that Underground champions own.

  • Recon
  • Duelist
  • Sure Shot
  • Ace
  • Heart
  • Spellslinger
  • Aegis
  • Brawler

However, although there is not much overlap, there are only 5 Underground champions. This gives you 3 champion slots at level 8 for extra synergy.

Features of Champions Underground

Let's take a look at each of the Heroes in the Underground System/Clan and what you can do with them.

Kayle (Underground + Duelist)

Kayle is the only 1 gold character of the Underground, and a Long range DPS pretty simple. Her ability enhances Attack Speed, which pairs well with her Duelist trait.

Ezreal (Underground + Recon)

Ezreal has mixed ability, which provides some utility and also deals damage. The Recon trait is primarily a defensive trait, but can be used to protect Ezreal from the likes of Hackers.

If you decide to play more Recons, that will give him Fatal chance, so there are ways to increase Critical Damage ratio which can be great.

Vi (Underground + Aegis + Brawler)

Vi is a general Tanker unique in the Underground System/Clan. However, she has two classes: Aegis and Brawler. This makes her a very powerful Tanker to build around, as she can combine with a lot of different units to activate her traits.

Sona (Underground + Heart + Spellslinger)

Sona is the only Underground champion whose growth is mainly based on Power of magic. Despite her ability to build teams around Sona, her Heart Attribute/Clan makes her valuable as a squad support champion.

By using more she can deal good damage, but most teams should put damage items on their other champions to be more optimal.

Samira (Underground + Sureshot + Ace)

Samira is the last card of the Underground that costs 4 gold. If you can find a Samira early, you'll have a very good advantage to build your deck.

Samira is also a champion with mutant power. Around Phase 4, when you start finding 4 gold champions, you'll shift your strategy from losing to winning. Having a strong carry to power up your team helps a lot with that.

Like Vi and Sona, she has two layers, which gives more flexibility for combining multiple lineups. Sureshot is a very strong damage trait and Ace is a trait that only Samira can activate. This allows her to execute enemies when health is low.

Samira will definitely be a strong carry to build around, but she might not necessarily be your main carry

| Underground Heroes Strengthening Core

There are many Underground Hero Cores to choose from with the new hero enhancement system. Since season 8 is still in development, please try them all. Build around Kayle, Sona, Samira, whoever you want.

As the meta evolves, there will be clear winners for the best spells. But for now, you can try all of them. Just make sure to adjust your squad accordingly.

Recommend the Underground lineup

It's still early in the version test PBE server, so things are bound to change, but here's a lineup to try. As patches come out and the meta evolves, we could see changes to this roster. But for now, here's a comp that you can experiment with.

| Team Reroll Ezreal and Vi

This is personal opinion Our review of an Underground lineup with Ezreal and Vi as the two main Carry. These two champions will carry you for most of the game until you settle into the late game with Samira and Leona.

For more details on how to deploy the squad Reroll Ezreal and Vi with the Underground system/tribe. You can refer to the article TFT Comps Set 8 below.
