Honkai: Star Rail players recently started an online discussion. Where they're trying to find out Pom-Pom's gender. Known for being the lovable conductor of the Astral Train. Pom-Pom is a regular fixture in HoYoverse's latest game, an NPC that gives players useful items as they level up their Mining.

The explorer, the playable protagonist of Honkai: Star Rail, meets Pom-Pom when they board the Astral Train after the end of the first season. Many characters describe the commander as being strict but also soft towards those they love, including the Explorer.

Meanwhile, Honkai: Star Rail players also say that Pom-Pom is the equivalent of Genshin Impact's Paimon. The only difference is the conductor do not leave the Astral Express Train to join the protagonist and their companions on their quests, unlike Paimon which often appears out of nowhere.

In addition to looking like a cute bunny, Pom-Pom's existence seems to have intrigued many players. On reddit Honkai: Star Rail, user Competitive_Ad_53 posted a question about Pom-Pom's gender.

In the game, it is never explicitly stated that Pom-Pom is male or female, but in-game characters, including Pom-Pom, will simply refer to the conductor using the pronoun they.

However, other Honkai: Star Rail players answered the question in the most amusing way possible, with the majority agreeing that Pom-Pom is neither male nor female.

The most upvoted answer is that Pom-Pom's gender is also "Pom-Pom", receiving comments saying this is the best and only answer to the question. Other replies joked that Pom-Pom was identified as stuffed animal and is friends with the Explorer and the other characters.

Meanwhile, some players have pointed out that the English translation of Honkai: Star Rail sometimes refers to the commander as "he", which some refute when the game's official press release states that "Pom-Pom is Pom-Pom". One also theorized that the conductor's race, which has not been revealed in the game, doesn't actually distinguish itself based on gender.
